Jean is an LSW who obtained her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago; she also has degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Michigan. Before joining the mental health field, she practiced law, pursued entrepreneurship, and worked in admissions in higher education. She brings all of these experiences and her whole self into the therapeutic space: being fully present with clients during a session and witnessing their growth and strength over time is a true privilege to Jean.
She believes in a collaborative approach to counseling where the client is the expert on their own experiences and goals, and the therapist is a guide along the way.
Jean helps clients work through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, phase of life concerns, work-life balance, grief, and other challenges. She uses an integrative framework to support clients and their unique needs, drawing on various schools of thought including psychodynamic, emotion-focused, relational, attachment, and strengths-based philosophies. Additionally, Jean is an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist who uses this modality in conjunction with talk therapy to aid in clients’ healing.
Supportive all the time, but challenging when it’s necessary to look deeper for answers and understanding, Jean builds an encouraging and warm relationship with clients, and works with them to identify how they want to show up differently: in their relationships, their environments, and for themselves. Along with her clients, Jean co-creates a space where authenticity is valued, insight is prized, and growth is championed: if this sounds like part of your journey, you’ve come to the right place.
