Great news…a lot of the BCBS choice plans do not require individuals to meet their deductibles prior to receiving mental health benefits. This means that in many cases clients will only owe a copay or coinsurance. Please fill out the benefit and verification form below and we will do the work for you to help you better understand your plan and use your insurance effectively.
Insurance can be confusing– we get it. Check out the information below for some commonly asked questions.
Answer: Each insurance company & insurance plan is unique! Additionally, each of our therapists take insurance from different companies. We recommend that you reach out to your insurance company in addition to getting a benefits check from one of our staff members. Insurance doesn’t always fully cover the cost of treatment, but it can depending on your plan.
Answer: We highly recommend clients reach out to their insurance company to get the most up to date information on what is covered & not covered. Clients are responsible for knowing what their insurance benefits are. If you are unsure of what to expect, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org to request an explanation of benefits. Calling the number on the back of your insurance card and giving them our two most used CPT codes (90791 and 90837) is the best way to guarantee that you will know your insurance benefits. Sometimes, there will be a copay or a deductible that needs to be met. Your insurance company can best explain to you your unique plan.
Answer: We completely understand that calling your insurance company can feel intimidating. When you call, simply state that you’re hoping to start mental health therapy, but that you are wanting to gather more information regarding what is covered & if your potential clinician is in network with your plan. The insurance company representative should be able to look over your policy to confirm that the services are covered or partly covered. Be sure to ask about your deductible & any copays. Write down the name of the representative you spoke to, the time & date (for your own records).
Answer: You can see a clinician for our self pay rate and we provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance. You are responsible for submitting superbills to your insurance company for possible partial/full reimbursement from them. It’s important to confirm with your insurance company that they can/will partially reimburse you as it’s always possible they can deny your claim. We cannot speak to whether your insurance company will cover any of the cost. Reimbursement is not guaranteeed.
Answer: Yes! Clients agree to a specific self pay rate with their new clinician or with our intake coordinator. Clients are responsible for providing valid and updated credit card information on their intake forms. Our billing team will use this credit card to charge the client balance for each session.
Answer: Our Pre-Licensed Therapist Rate is $120. Our Fully-Licensed Clinician rate is $145. If you’d like to see one of our Intern-Clinicians, the rate is $40.
Answer: It’s important that therapy practices give self-pay clients an estimate of their therapeutic treatment costs. A Good Faith Estimate shows the expected costs of therapy services based on all the information given to the practice when the estimate is made.
