Pregnancy is an amazing period in a woman’s life! Perhaps because of this, it can also be extremely challenging. Join us in a group designed to teach you how to use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills during this time. DBT is a cognitive behavioral treatment developed by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., ABPP. It is evidence-based and helps people learn to use new skills and strategies to develop a life that they experience worth living. The group will focus on learning and implementing skill from DBT’s four modules:
Mindfulness: process and accept the full range of ever-changing emotions
Distress Tolerance: effectively manage the fear and anxiety that accompany the unknown elements of pregnancy
Emotion Regulation: increase time spent in the awesome experiences of the joy and wonder of pregnancy
Interpersonal Effectiveness: effectively communicate your needs and concerns with health care professionals and family members
