Jennifer Bedoy, LPC

jennifer@thatherapygroup.comFrom an early time in my life, I knew I wanted to be a therapist. I started my experience in mental health working with individuals with chronic to severe mental illness, helping them navigate life, building independence, and seeing their growth was one of the best experiences of my life.

I’ve always felt that it was my calling, to help and be that flashlight that helped people guide their way through life and their journey. It is my goal is to help individuals navigate their struggles by exploring their past, identifying the root of their thoughts/problems, processing their past, or creating efficient coping skills. I want every single individual I work with to feel empowered and in control.

My style of therapy comes from a very integrative approach, whether is a person-centered, cognitive-behavioral approach, narrative, or psychodynamic approach, I want to make sure I use an approach that matches my client’s needs. I am a person who appreciates humor, so this is something that I like to use in my sessions. I can have a soft and caring personality but have no problem using confrontation if I feel it is needed for someone to refocus or be honest with themselves.

On a more personal matter, I am a plant lover, love dogs (I have a 136lb dog!), coffee, podcast, and walks. I’m interested in my client’s passions and likes so always feel free to share them with me.
