Hello! My name is Chimare Eaglin. I’ve lived in Chicago for 11 years now, and it’s really been home for me throughout my professional journey. I attended Adler University (formerly known as The Adler School for Professional Psychology), and received my Masters in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling. I began my career in community mental health and it fueled my love for the field of counseling, and how special it is to watch people grow interpersonally. I continued my studies at The Chicago School for Professional Psychology where I received my doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. This allowed me to expand and also help people professionally in the areas of coaching and development.
I like to think of therapy as a space for connection and a relationship in which your healing and wellbeing is the focus. From my experience, people benefit most when therapy offers a time for you to stop, breathe, feel and talk through what is distressing you.
I work with people who are experiencing a continuum of issues, such as anxiety, depression, past traumas, eating disorders, stress, and addiction. I also work with people who want to deepen their relationships with themselves and achieve their full potential in the many areas of life and wellness. So whether you find that you continue to repeat unhealthy behaviors, or you need relief from troubling conditions, I’m here to help you find the tools necessary to regain a sense of balance within your life.
My approach is warm, person-centered, empathetic, and interactive. Integrating a variety of treatment modalities, my goal is to create a therapeutic relationship with you, and collaborate to explore what is getting in the way of how you want to be living and to support you in making meaningful changes that allow you to have more fulfillment in your life.
What do you want for your clients?
I want my clients to let their guards down, and view me as a safe space.
What led you to this work?
I love to help others, and I love human connection. I’m very passionate about finding ways to achieve goals, overcome obstacles, and sustain fulfillment in life, so the work that I do comes naturally.
What do you do in your free time?
I love to cook and bake! I find myself trying out new recipes each week, and love challenging myself to incorporate a new ingredient that I’m not very familiar with.
